You're Participation is voluntary! And, participants may discontinue the study at any time. 

Participants: Children Ages 6 - 17 Years

Time Required: 2-5 Minutes p/session

Cost: Free 

Exclusions: This research study is for children and teens who do not have or are not suspectived of having Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disabilities. 

Where's Data Go?  Your child's name will not be stored with the collected data, so all answers are kept in upmost confidentiality. 

What's the study About?

This research project is designed to study if giving feedback about clients’ progress to their counselor is helpful in improving the effectiveness of counseling. The data from this research will be used to better understand how feedback from clients can be obtained and used in counseling with children and adolescents.

Risk of Participation: To the best of our knowledge, the things your child will be doing in this study have no more risk of harm than they would experience in everyday life. Your child may find filling out forms stressful if they are in a hurry. If that is the case, your child can let the researcher know so a different time can be arranged. At any time, your child has the right to stop participating, either temporarily or permanently.

How's This helpful?

There is no guarantee that your child will get any benefit from taking part in this study. However, some people have experienced a feeling of fulfillment or gain insight into how research is done when participa ting in a research project. Their willingness to take part may in the future help society , as a whole, to better understand this research topic.

Christina Christie, LCSW
UCA Counseling Psychology Doctoral Student

Ms. Christie is a licensed certified social worker with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and couples. She enjoys helping people grow and thrive, assisting them in improving their relationships with others, increasing their self-esteem and helping them learn how to heal from difficult life situations. Christina Christie enjoys collaboratively helping people learn how to use their voice in treatment so they get better faster and thrive. She uses evidence-based approaches to treat trauma in every age group such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure. For depression and anxiety, Christie utilizes evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, and mindfulness-based approaches.
